This seems more poised, less remorseless of tannin, oak and heat, than in years past. Don't be fooled, Lunatiq is by virtue of its Heathcote origins ferruginous, corpulent and powerful, oozing cherry ripe flavours across bolshie tannins soused with bitter chocolate, oak vanillas and coffee grind, The regional whiff of menthol clears the passages, yet it is not excessive considering the idiom at hand. This screams barbecue!

A more classic shiraz with plenty of blackberry compote, morello cherries, mulberries and resin, as well as blueberry cake. Full-bodied with plenty of ripe, juicy tannins and a succulent finish. Drink in 2020.
