Fine-grained and elegant, this supple and stylish Bordeaux blend has balance, structure and an enticing, floral perfume of red berries, cassis, plums and fresh cedary oak backed by dusty notes of dried herbs. It's charmingly long and measured, with an intense presence of small black and red berries, cherries and a tight-knit backbone, finishing with a suggestion of dried herbs.

This release is a well-composed, medium-weight wine. It''s not wacky with greenness or stylistically ''out there''; it''s cool and composed and well ripened. It tastes of briary blackcurrant, dust, tobacco, cloves and bitter dark olives. There''s a fleshy fruitiness to its core but a sturdy chain of dusty tannin tugs from the mid-palate onwards. It''s the best structured of the 2010 Trio releases and, in a cellarworthy sense, my pick of them. Length is good too. Gum leaf aftertaste works well. Its best is clearly ahead of it.
