Veuve ClicquotCave Privée Rosé 1989
About this product
Veuve Clicquot's Cave Privée releases aim to showcase the finest selection of vintage champagne from the house's 'Private Cellar' or 'Cave Privée'. Adding to the Cave Privée Brut 1990 is the Cave Privée Rose from the exalted 1989 vintage. The year was warm and sun drenched for a large majority of the time, except for a frost event in April. Due to the position of Veuve Clicquot's finest crus they were unaffected and the resulting fruit from Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs was as close to perfection as you can imagine. The wine itself is based upon a blend of 67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay which is then completed with the addition of some Bouzy Pinot Noir that was vinified as a red wine. Individually numbered and beautifully presented in a wooden gift box.

... enticingly understated pale salmon hue and an ethereal bouquet of truffles, wood smoke and forest floor... still very much in the glorious prime of her life.
