Vintage 2019
96 points THE REAL REVIEW
Deep red colour with a subtle purple tint. The bouquet is slightly reductive at first, and this gave way with time in the glass to a reserved and attractive spiciness. The palate is slightly gritty and a little astringent at first, partly due to acidity. The wine underneath is intense and tight, firm and a little closed, but there is great precision and concentration. Elegant and powerful. It's certain to go onwards and upwards from here, and arguably needs more time.

Vying for top spot as the finest The Paringa to date, it manages to harness overall power through a prism of elegance. Awash with black ripe plums and satsuma, too. Incredibly spicy, with pepper and cardamom in the mix, the oak merely playing backup. Full bodied, with precision tannins, some grainy texture and great persistence. Wow.
