Léoville's label (Grand Vin de Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases) doesn't mention the +Château+ as a result of it's 18th century standing as not only the most important Château in St-Julien, but of all the Médoc. While firmer, and slower to mature than most St-Julien's, recently the wines have filled out and are not only elegant, but extremely powerful and concentrated. The 2009 is one of the true stars of the outstanding vintage which has produced a wine of concentration, length and density.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.
