The Little Yering looks to be in good form. You’d buy this for the smell of it. It’s complex, inviting and earthen; it draws you in. This is a lovely pinot noir for drinking. Undergrowth, twigs, fresh cherries, a touch of violet, maybe even into boysenberry. A gentle meatiness too. It has a dry, tannic finish; perfect for the dinner table. It doesn’t have a lot of power but it still manages to fit a lot in. It’s been well packed. If you’re looking for something affordable this should definitely be on your list.

Medium to deep red colour with a tint of purple. The bouquet is reserved but showing pleasant ripe dark-cherry aromas, tinged with Campari, while the palate is taut and firm, compact and a little locked-up, the tannins gripping the finish and closing down the flavour. It may just need a little more time.
