Deep colour. Lovely fresh blackberry, dark cherry, herb aromas with some liquorice, paneforte notes. Well concentrated blackberry, dark cherry, praline flavours, fine-grained touch chalky-al-dente tannins. Finishes firm and tight. Beautiful richness and volume. Gentle tannin plume at the finish.

Vintage 2008

A wine that needs no introduction, being the alter-ego of Grange, based on the use of more old than new oak - though to imply that either wine was lightly-oaked would be entirely innacurate. The 2008 South Australian vintage, from which this hail,s also needs no introduction, a vintage that delivered pitch-perfect, richly-fruited wines, with the requisite balance to see them age for a very long time indeed. At almost a decade old this wine is only just begin to settle in for the long haul - a bit like sinking into a bean-bag, you know its going to get mighty comfortable, but you aint there just quite yet. But you aren''t getting out. Chiselled blackcurrant frame, cedar, mocha, plum galore, and then some. A Mexican wrestler of a wine.
