Deep red colour with a faint purple tinge, the aromas are of rhubarb crumble, with sappy, briary overtones, while the palate is also sappy and the tannins are a mite grippy. It's a good wine, elegant and medium to full-bodied, but there is a herbal, sappy quality and some tamarillo notes, which raise a slight question over tannin ripeness. The wine has good intensity and length.
