Full bodied but not blown out, with a savoury oak component competing with fruit flavour. Roast mocha oak, dark fruit, with red glimmers coming through, along with a touch of tar and aniseed - a subtle eucalyptus perfume above. Plenty of depth here, along with slightly rugged, but appealing tannin structure. Layered. There's even a suggestion of strawberry in the after-taste. Been surprised by plenty of wines from this vintage - here's another.

Good depth to colour; a rich and fleshy wine, with plum, blackberry, vanillan oak and ripe, soft tannins all in harmony; will live for decades, but the impatient won''t be disappointed.
