WoodvaleLizzie Mock Off-Dry Riesling 2016
About this product
One selected Riesling parcel from a single vineyard in the Armagh valley west of Clare was picked in very late March and allowed to ferment cool for three weeks before stopping its fermentation at just under 10 grams per litre. This naturally retained grape sugar is perfectly balanced by the acid from this cool site giving the wine a slightly creamy texture, flavours of crisp green apples and pears with subtle tropical highlights. A delicious wine well matched to a number of food dishes or enjoyed on its own. A cellaring potential of at least 20 years easily achievable.

Light straw colour, bright; aromas are crisp and sharp, herb and nettle scents, with high notes of lemon juice and lime cordial. The palate is delicate and tight, vibrant and fresh. The finish has a tickle of sweetness but finishes clean and refreshing. It's still very youthful and has a bright future.

An off-dry style with deliciously vibrant sherbet florals, orange blossom, lychees and other tropical fruits, and balanced by crisp and refreshing green apple acidity. There's some nice toasty notes developing, too.
