Jim BarryThe Florita Riesling 2016
About this product
A wine of immense drive and purity. Tightly wound within clean, straight acidity. Exhibits pure lime fruit with a long citrus finish. Expresses a pale straw in the glass with a slight green tinge. Opens with powerful floral aromatics of rose water, citrus blossom, pear and lime. A magnificent benchmark dry Riesling to be enjoyed now or with careful cellaring for the next ten years

Has a bit of fenugreek funk about it as a young wine, but under that it’s a thing of beauty and purity. Lime and lemon, the real river pebbles/slate/whatever-you-want-to-call-it thing you get in top Clare Valley Riesling is here aplenty. A little fennel and floral perfume, cool acidity, and immaculate length. Top shelf.
