Jim BarryThe Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
About this product
The Benbournie has been created with the Jim Barry philosophy to be enjoyed upon release after a period of long term cellaring (under correct conditions) to enhance the wine’s qualities. This wine is a deep crimson red in the glass. Intensely aromatic with a mix of dark vine fruits, dark chocolate, fresh garden herbs, cedar oak and a touch of earth.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Here’s a seductive and rich chocolatey wine layered with peppermint and baking spices, and ripe black fruit. Tannin is fat and well massaged, the acidity nicely bedded down, and the finish is long, deep and seasoned with sage and spice, and perhaps some tobacco and more savoury stuff. It’s very good.
