Chris RinglandThe Maker Edition Shiraz 2019
About this product
I’ve worked with Barossa Shiraz for over 25 years and have crafted this special blend, personally choosing from a small number of parcels to convey my unique style. This is an exceptional Shiraz that captures the essence of Barossa. It truly earns its name, The Maker Edition, Chris Ringland.
The Maker Edition captures the unique characteristics of Barossa valley vineyard sites located South of Tanunda, with rich fruit profiles combined with supple and plush tannins. It’s like smelling a freshly opened chocolate box. The fruit aromas are reminiscent of spiced red berries, blackberries and plums, whilst the palate flows with a rich, sweet fruit flavours.
The Barossa region has enjoyed a string of very successful vintages since 2012. Interestingly, each of these vintages has been unique, with the wines ( Shiraz, in particular ) displaying characteristics that set it apart from the others.
Shiraz from the central Barossa zone, South of Tanunda has had an important influence on the Maker Edition blend. There is a large dome of Black Biscay cracking clay in this zone and this tends to produce Shiraz flavour profile on the black fruit end of the spectrum.
