Nebu is a Barossa version of the great Australian red blend, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, the former normally sitting around 60% of the combination. Maturation is in French oak hogsheads. The final wine is a barrel selection.
An opaque maroon hue, this is still very youthful, but surely a wine with a promising future. We have notes of chocolate and kirsch, plums, licorice, warm earth, red apples, soy, cloves and blackcurrants. The oak is well handled and there is a core of sweet black cherries running throughout. A wine which is taut, tense and poised, with very good length, it finishes with sleek tannins. The wine is well balanced at all times. Well cellared, it should easily provide pleasure for fifteen to twenty years. One of the better examples of this wine.
