About this product


Sombra Spanish for shadow takes its name from Turraparri Creek Aboriginal Kaurna language which runs through our Tempranillo vineyard block. An early ripening varietal Tempranillo of Spanish origin thrives in McLaren Vales Mediterranean climate delivering a fresh and vibrant wine of medium body. Blueberries cherries plums and dried figs are met with spices tobacco leaf and fine supple tannins. The Hamiltons were South Australias first family of wine. On 17 October 1837 Richard Hamilton and family arrived in South Australia population 2500. In true pioneering style vineyards were a priority and were planted later that year.
