About this product

Bodegas Arrocal is a family-owned estate nestled in the historic village of Gumiel de Mercado, in the heart of Spain’s Ribera del Duero. Though the family’s viticultural roots span generations, the Arrocal label was officially established in 2002 by Rosa Arroyo and Moisés Calvo, husband and wife. Today, the winery is defined by a shift toward precision, terroir-driven winemaking led by the founders' sons, Rodrigo and Asier, who bridge long-standing tradition with a modern vision for the region's unique landscape. This ""Village"" release is sourced from plots in the limestone-rich soils of the village of Gumiel de Mercado. A unique blend of 90% Tinto Fino, 5% Garnacha, and 5% Albillo Mayor, the wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels. It opens with a bright, inviting bouquet of ripe black cherries and fresh violets, accented by a hint of toasted spice. The palate is vibrant and supple, showing a core of dark plum and mineral notes framed by fine tannins. This is a 'Village' wine in the truest sense—a pure expression of Gumiel de Mercado.
