A well-balanced, intense, textured and lively Cote-Rotie, proposing aromas of dark cherries, smoke, dried herbs, stones and peppercorns. It’s medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. 100% Syrah (Serine). 100% whole cluster. Aged for 12 months in new and one-year-old barrels, then 12 months in foudre. Cask sample.
Tasted blind. A brooding and dense nose, inky blackberry, smoked meat, crushed mulberry. A powerful palate with meaty notes coming through, the oak-derived tannins are prominent yet balanced with the moderate core of acidity. Rich, structured and showy on the palate, with real concentration of fruit. A hedonistic and appealing expression. (AC)
