(Series No. 8) An exquisite old tawny of massive rancio character, enormous concentration and complexity. Very sweet on entry, then extraordinary drying finish thanks to tannin, acidity and rancio. And a touch of volatile acidity. Piercing acidity and the VA gives it an extra boost of energy. Amazing persistence. A great wine. (Average age is 50 years; some of it is much older. 330 hand-made bottles produced)
