American oaked and generous. There’s some hurly burly to this. It’s big and unapologetic. A handshake with a cuddle thrown in. Toast, malt, plum, bitumen, some warmth, some metal, some blackberry, a slip of (dark) choc-mint. Alcohol is up there but on the whole it carries it. You certainly get your money’s worth.

In character, structure, presence and sheer longevity, this is a Shiraz that should be treated like no other at its everyday price. Laced with pepper and spice and ramed in a rigid chassis of firm, fine tannins, this is a wine built for the long haul. It's classy, sophisticated and very serious.
