Deepish brick-red colour with glints of purple in the rim but it's not bright. The aroma is reductive at first sniff, then stemmy and herbal, forest floor and underbrush aromas dominating. The wine is lean and light to medium-bodied, savoury and drying, but lacks primary fruit expression. There's a touch of sour-cherry and the finish tightens up with tannin.

Mellow and developed with leather, truffle, red cherry and woodsy spice notes woven throughout. Signs of gaminess too. It's a complex, mid-weight red with excellent tannin, length and interest.
