Handpicked and pressed straight to French barriques (82% new) for wild fermentation and 9 months maturation. The impact of the bouquet is immediate and multifaceted, with a perfectly judged touch of struck match/flint. The palate takes the wine onto another plane altogether, with imperious drive and tenacity to its unsweetened grapefruit and white peach flavours.

Any reservations Penfolds Senior White Winemaker Kym Schroeter has of 2014 in Tumbarumba he certainly doesn't hold for the Adelaide Hills, a season he ranks up with 2012 for its structure and longevity. This is a Bin A of body, concentration and grand persistence, declaring fermentation and nine months maturation in 82% new 225L barriques in layers of toasty, nutty complexity. All the grand charisma of Bin A weaves seamlessly amidst a vector of impeccable white peach and grapefruit of exacting focus and drive, drawing into an impeccably honed tail that lingers very long.
