Light to medium yellow colour with a yeasty freshly-fermented aroma; floral, limy and 'new'. A very good but nascent young riesling, which is not easy to evaluate or describe conclusively. The palate is citrusy, dry and savoury; there is nil residual sugar, at a guess. Good length and precision, the fruit and acidity combining to give the wine mouthwatering freshness and tension. It's a bit young to really evaluate properly, but looks to have great potential.

"Scintillating", was the first word that came to mind when we tried this stunner straight out of our cellar. Penfolds have access to the very best fruit the Eden Valley can offer, resulting in a wine that is among the very best rieslings this country can produce. The 2015 is built to last a very long time - it's journey only just begun. The very early signs of great development are emerging. Slight toastiness and apple skin notes peek over the soft lime, light spice, minerality and tonic water clarity. The blossom aromatics, fruit vitality and freshness are captivating. Shimmering acidity providing a linear focus seals the deal. This is great!
