PenfoldsBin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
About this product
Penfolds Bin 407 began life back in 1993 with the release of the 1990 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon. Created as a result of the availability of high quality Cabernet fruit, Bin 407 is inspired by its older brother, Bin 707. Not only offering varietal definition, but also approachability, structure and depth of flavour. The 2013 vintage highlights the Penfolds approach to multi-region, multi-vineyard blending to create a Cabernet that rewards the drinker in both early and later years.

Another grand release in the great lineage of 407, this is an impeccably varietal cabernet of intricately engineered structure and incredible longevity. Blackcurrant and cassis fruit are framed skilfully in lively acidity and the dark chocolate and coffee of classy French (26% new) and American (12% new) oak. Fruit and oak tannins unite seamlessly to propel the finish with confidence and great persistence. A blend of McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Coonawarra, Wrattonbully and Barossa Valley.

A strongly varietal Cabernet Sauvignon with cedar, cigar box, cassis flavours against a background of subtle herbs and classy oak. The wine is beautifully structured with fine, ripe tannins that are not overdone but suggest good cellaring potential. A very elegant wine, masterfully made from grapes grown in five regions and perfectly integrated.
