Light straw hue, quite youthful for its age, with a very complex oatmeal, nougat, smoked charcuterie and roasted nut bouquet. Very complex indeed. The wine is likewise in the mouth: rich and layered, complex and giving, with great intensity, amplitude and charm. A top wine.

This is a very good wine, but the difference between it and the estate Yarra Valley Chardonnay is much less than that between the estate and The Barber. It's about the future, which may well lie with this wine. In the meantime, the value lies with the Estate.
