Lake's FollyCabernets 2013
About this product
Establishing Lake's Folly in 1963, Max Lake has since become a bona fide Hunter Valley icon. Making only 2 wines and concentrating most on their iconic Cabernet blend, Lake's definitely take the laid back approach to winemaking. Utilising traditional methods like hand picking, gentle crushing and open top fermenters, the Lake's Folly Cabernet is a lovely hark back to an old Australian 'Claret' style.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Vintage 2013
95 points
A 60/22/12/6% blend of cabernet, shiraz, petit verdot and merlot, open fermented and matured in French oak. A typically elegant Folly, and has taken full advantage of the vintage; cassis, redcurrant, cedar and wisp of earth typical of the Hunter Valley are all to be had.
