Very good colour; the bouquet offers cassis, spice and cedar, characters reappearing on the medium-bodied palate, which is notable for its texture and structure, fine-grained tannins lengthening and strengthening the finish. Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Malbec.

...This blend of Merlot (46%), Cabernet Franc (45%) and Malbec (9%) certainly tickled my fancy. And while I have your attention you can also add Frankland Estate to the list of wineries that don’t respond to their eMail…although seemingly I’ve now been plopped onto their (e)mailing list. There’s an attractive (to me) grassy/capsicum Cabernet Franc lift over ripe plums and berries with a kiss of choc-mint richness. It’s medium to full bodied with dominant savoury flavours of earth, black olives and tobacco, although the fruit is full and plush too, so it’s in balance. Good flavour with plenty of grippy dry tannins – a black flavoured wine that appropriately walks the line. And as a Merlot/Franc blend enthusiast it gives me cause for a love that I can’t hide.
