The big statement syrah from Craggy Range has a very attractive, pristine, pure nose on the red fruit spectrum. Cloaked in pepper and spice, there''s a dark, stony thread and a musky fragrance that is bolstered by fresh new oak. The palate has deep driving shape; tannins layer up in a smooth sheet like form, carrying dark - and red fruit flavours deep and even. Finishes with sappy freshness. Drink now.

The flagship wine from Craggy Range is an impressive beast. Beautifully detailed pure dark and black berry fruits are uncorked by exotic spice, pepper, veal jus, earthy notes and well-judged oak use. The super-fine, gravelly tannins provide a canvas onto which the fruit is stretched tautly, and supporting characters add the depth and detail. Long of finish, with a minerally acid line.
