Deep red/purple colour, young for its age. The bouquet is very fragrant, ripe and plummy with violet, dark berry and spice, the merest hint of herbs and they're more dried than green herbs. The wine is full-bodied and firm, but more elegant and graceful than this wine has been in the past. The tannins are there in force as always, but they are refined and supple. Lovely fruit-sweetness in the middle palate. the wine is marginally lighter, largely due to the vintage, more elegant and less forceful, but this is partly due to the direction Ross Pamment is pushing the style. The oak seems less evident than past Jack Manns. A fine, stylish, beautiful wine.

If you're after bankable quality in your cellar then look no further. This is a mighty wine. It has muscle, it has flesh, it melts in your mouth and it triggers your brain too. It's the complete package. It's dark with berried flavour, coated in smoky vanillin oak, alive with spice and earth, and shoots ripples of flavour and tannin out through the finish. Top notch in all respects.
