Bright crimson; a classic in the making (tasted six weeks after bottling) with everything one could hope for from this great label: blackberry and plum fruit, great tannins, very good oak, and superb line, length and balance. Maurice O'Shea would applaud.

A somewhat exotic perfume along with earthy purple fruit and smoky blue oak - licorice and spice coming through with air. Medium bodied with lovely texture, plenty of fine ripe tannin, savoury spicy dark fruit, impossible old vine concentration and terrific shape and length. It seems a little sombre on opening, but blossoms, freshens and lightens up as it takes air - the fruit becoming move vibrant and juicy. How long do you want to keep it is not the question - the questions is ''how long have you got?'' Special wines from special vineyards? We''ve got ''em all right.
