Deepish red colour with the merest trace of purple remaining. The bouquet is very complex and inviting, with mocha, chocolate and coffee grounds aromas. The wine is full-bodied and firm, well-structured and quite powerful, even for a not-so-great vintage. There are black fruits, cedar and tobacco notes on the palate, hints of spice and again coffee, and the aftertaste rolls on for a long time. Very good indeed. (approx. 47% cab sauv, 43% merlot, 10% cab franc)
