Deepish ruby colour with the merest hint of purple in the rim. The bouquet has smoked-meats, earth and ironstone aromas, very Barossa and very shiraz. The palate is medium-bodied and intense but the tannins are silky-smooth and the finish is dry and refreshingly clean without excess tannin or acid, the dosage evidently quite low. A high-quality sparkling red, lovely right now and it should also take quite a few years of age well. Long, satisfying finish.
