Good colour for the blend; leather, spice, licorice and chocolate are all present along with fruit on the bouquet; the palate has more luscious fruit in a darker register than usual, an unqualified success.

Hazelnuts in dark chocolate (don’t mind me) and distinctly floral and pretty with blueberry and cranberry fruit and a little pepper -red liquorice completes the trip to the tuck shop. It’s medium bodied and juicy, yet firm and meaty too, striking an excellent balance between sweet and savoury. Excellent drinkability and length. Sure to age well, and what’s more, most likely improve too. Borderline for an even higher rating.
