The Mildara Rothwell is a great example of regional knowledge and access to prime vineyards. The 2005 was a vintage of the highest order in Coonawarra and the resulting Rothwell is a superb Cabernet that is made for the long haul. Perfectly stored in our temperature controlled cellars, the 05 Rothwell Cab is drinking superbly right now, but wouldn't even hurt for a few more years in your own cellar.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Lovely cake-like nose with vanilla, nougat, cinnamon and ginger with ripe plum and Cassis fruit – just a touch of mint chocolate too. There’s a fair bit of oak but it’s good quality and very seductive. Full bodied with masses of fine mouth saturating velvety tannins. Excellent balance, flavour and length. It’s a bit showy perhaps, but an excellent wine of richness and satisfaction.
