The Wine Front
A good wine with a lot of interest. Mataro is such a good grape: I’m a Mataroiste. Dried herbs, a whiff of ashtray and smoked meats with figs and plum - ooooh the call of the wild. It’s medium bodied, dry and spicy with food friendly tannin but has plenty of red fruits and plums to go with it. Rustic and thigh-slappingly tasty. It’s a dead set bargain that makes you feel ruggedly continental and more than a bit sexy with it. Hola! Throw me a pig!
