A wonderfully pure fruited wine of great concentration, displaying aniseed influenced blackberries and black plum, along with the usual trappings associated with this great marque - slightly gamey, peppercorns, and spiced fruit cake. Glass staining density, power-packed and complex layering, undoubted elegance and class. A touch of "claret" about the tannins. History tells us we can cellar this for years and years.

Deep crimson. Fragrant inky, blackberry, graphite aromas with hints of roasted walnut, spice. Complex and evolved with blackberry, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, chinotto flavours fine loose knit lacy chalky firm tannins, and underlying graphite, walnut notes. Finishes claret firm and tight. A refined style with lovely complexity and mineral length. Should develop very well. Drink 2025 – 2040
