If there is such a word as "shirazzy" then that describes this wine. Mid-weight, clean and bright with blue and black fruit interwoven with elements of graphite, licorice and archetypal peppery spice. The oak is way off in the background and a lovely line of acid keeps the whole thing fresh and tangy in the modern idiom.

Pristine and elegantly perfumed, the bouquet shows blueberry, dark plum, violet and subtle spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is beautifully weighted and rounded. It is wonderfully composed and flavoursome, while remaining focused and persistent, backed by plenty of polished tannins. At its best: now to 2028
