93 points The Wine Front
Upper Yarra Pinot Noir is always a bit light on, in a good way, but there’s a touch more fruit-oomph to this release. It’s still slender but its cranberried flavours are flushed through with red cherry, crushed roses and sweet herbs, and while at times I also saw cedarwood oak it kept disappearing back into the wine. That’s never a bad sign. Tannin is fine and deceptively assertive – it takes time and air to really show itself properly – and length is sound plus. With time this wine will build flesh and once it has I’d expect it to tip over onto gold medal status. Regardless of scores this is a wine that will mature beautifully.
