Vintage 2018

2018 is a great vintage for the famous Meshach label. An icon of the Barossa, the wine has never looked better, benefitting from an exceptional vintage. This Meshach is strikingly aromatic and deeply flavoured (the more you look, the more you find), whilst retaining elegance all the way. Effortlessly powerful, like a purring V8 engine waiting to unleash, the superb richness of the plump dark fruit is cosseted comfortably by toasty vanilla bean oak, licorice notes and damp black earth tannins. All of the markers required of grand, iconic Barossa shiraz are easily ticked off in this superb wine. Long-term cellaring is an option with this one.

Deep crimson. Classic blackberry, dark chocolate aromas with hints of liquorice/ herb garden. Generously proportioned with dense blackberry, black cherry flavours, plentiful ripe chocolaty tannins, very good mid-palate density and underlying mocha, roasted chestnut notes. Finishes gravelly firm with inky, chinotto, mineral notes. Very well balanced wine with the richness, concentration and power for long term aging. Best to cellar for some years although drinking well already. 14.5% alc Drink now to 2035 96 points
