Dry, Full Bodied style of ShirazBest’s Great Western as a Shiraz ‘house’ has extensive experience with the variety through the legacy of their long winemaking history dating back to the 1860’s. Bin 1 Shiraz is an introduction the regional style of Great Western Shiraz. Made predominantly from Best’s own vineyards, Bin 1 Shiraz represents the essence of Best’s winemaking ideals and the uniqueness of the Great Western region.Colour: Deep intensity with a ruby red hue. Bouquet: Intensity red and black fruits on the nose. Red cherries with dark plum undertones, and a slight hint of cracked black pepper. Palate: Medium bodied with primary red fruits of red plum skin and cherry whilst the mid-palate has a lovely layer of pepper spice. The wine finishes with fine toasty tannins coupled with linear acidity that allows the wine to finish fresh and in perfect balance.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

This release is on song. Black pepper and peppercorn characters float through cherry and plum fruit flavour. It's lively, it has enough depth, it finishes well and it charms throughout. The fine-grained, savoury aspect of the tannin here is of particular note. If you like the Great Western style, you can buy this with confidence
