About this product

From the Adelaide Hills, this Montepulciano ripens late and produces rich full flavours with good acidity levels and soft ripe tannins. Montepulciano is a grape variety widely planted throughout the central regions of Italy, most notably Abruzzi. It is the most exported grape variety red wine from Italy, and it proving a worthwhile variety to preserve with here in the Adelaide Hills as the wines have great structure and varietal flavours, with a spicy aromatic nose. This wine has a bright expressive and complex nose of cherry, maraschino, fig, violet, cranberry that flows easily to dense flavours of red cherry, candy, raspberry, cranberry. The palate is textural, broad and fleshy with a juicy acidity that is well integrated. Best paired with grilled meats or pasta. The Heritage Selection Range represents varieties originating from Central and Southern parts of Italy. They are classic wines that show big velvety tannins, high acidity and red fruits. This Range is designed for those big traditional hearty Mediterranean dishes.
