It's rare for Lenton Brae to have a miss. This wine certainly isn't. Indeed it's pretty much bang on. It tastes of blackcurrant, cedarwood, dried herbs and mulberry and when you swallow - a run of chocolate eases through your mouth. It's juicy, medium weight, soundly persistent and well framed. Good hue and a slightly lighter depth of colour. The nose is leafy and raspberry, redcurrant-like. It seems a touch on the less-ripe side of the ledger, with a little hardness on palate and a touch of austerity. A lighter-weighted cabernet merlot.
