Deep red with a glimmer of purple, it has a ripe, earthy aroma of spices and sweet plums, inviting and complex, with none of the mintiness common in this neck of the woods. It’s full bodied and spicy on the palate, smooth of texture and supple, with plentiful soft tannins and a long follow-through. Best drinking now to 2031.

Deepish red colour with a good tint of purple and aromas of peppermint at first sniff. The palate is likewise bold, a little raw and unready, with some astringency. It demands patience. Aromas of Aussie eucalypt 'forest floor' are paramount. Berry fruits emerge post airing. Alcohol is balanced but some other components need time to resolve. A big, raunchy red that will live long.
