Sweetly fruited and seductively savoury at the same time, showing dark fruit richness with nuances of pepper spice, cocoa, game and olive. It's concentrated and multi-layered on the palate offering gorgeous complexity together with loads of polished tannins, finishing long and engaging. At its best: now to 2034.

Deepish red colour with barely a trace of purple remaining. There's a strange herbal aspect to the bouquet and a note of ironstone. The wine is medium-bodied and soft-textured, with ample tannins adding a drying sensation to the finish. Soft and accessible, although it has the backbone to age too.
