Chateau Pape Clement located in Pessac Léognan is part of Bernard Magrez’s stable of estates. The 32.5 ha vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot on gravel, sandy and clay soils. Fruit is handpicked and hand sorted before undergoing a cool pre-ferment maceration and whole berry fermentation in wooden vats. Each parcel is fermented separately. This is a very driven Pape Clément with fantastic density and finesse at the same time. Linear and driven, the finish goes on for minutes with incredible tension and focus. More cabernet. Refinement with power.

Medium deep colour. Red currant plum inky violet aromas. Vigorous wine with generous fine plentiful graphite tannins, underlying chestnut oak notes. Finishes slinky and long. Generous and supple with attractive density and vinosity.
