Peter LehmannStonewell Shiraz
About this product
Today it is created with the same philosphy: to be Peter Lehmann's best blended Shiraz of vintage. From our legacy of loyal growers across the Barossa's many sub-regions, we seek out the very best Shiraz grapes: ones that are smaller, deeper in colour and more intensely flavoured than the rest. We call them 'Little Black Jewls'.
Fruit for Stonewell 2016 was carefully slected from low yielding vineyards across the Barossa. Each of these vineyards gave fruits of extraordinary density, colour and flavour showcasing the very best of the region.
Stonewell 2016 was matured in French oak hogsheads for 19 months adding structure, complexity and length to the wine. Dark red in colour, this vintage of Stonewell exhibits lifted aromas of juicy ripe black fruits, garnered by floral violet and cedar notes. The palate displays all the hallmarks of classic Stonewell, full-bodied with chocolate, mint and aniseed notes. The structure is firm and long and finishes with pure velvet-like tannins. This limited Shiraz is drinking beautifully now and will improve with age from good cellaring.

Vintage 2016
94 points The Real Review
Deep red colour with a tint of purple, and a bouquet that's redolent of ironstone, earth, graphite and minerals. It's very full-bodied, rich and savoury with stern tannins and a drying astringency that lingers long in tandem with the flavour. A powerful, emphatic shiraz—a wine that demands serious cellaring.
