Domaine d'Eugenie Echezeaux is produced from a very small holding of 0.55ha within the Echezeaux Grand Cru vineyard. Some of the vines are up to 80 years old and the vineyard itself was awarded biodynamic accreditation in 2010. The fruit is handpicked, and partially destemmed before undergoing fermentation in small vessels and maturation in new 90% new French oak.

A dollop of wood surrounds the notably ripe aromas of cassis, plum, violet and Asian-style tea. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors brim with dry extract that both imparts an opulent mouthfeel but enrobes the moderately firm supporting tannins as well and in the process renders them less prominent. This is an impressively dense wine in the context of the vintage.
