Domaine Armand RousseauGevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er cru 2016
About this product
Domaine Armand Rousseau’s superb .6ha parcel of 50-plus-year-old vines of Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru is located just on the other side of the wall of the adjoining Clos Saint-Jacques vineyard. With its excellent east-facing exposure, this is one of the commune’s most well-regarded Premier Crus and Rousseau’s version is slightly deeper in colour and more structured than their Lavaux Saint-Jacques but still with that customary purity of fruit and overall balance. Capable of up to fifteen years in the cellar, this small production wine is worth the hunt.

Vintage 2016
Burghound
A markedly sauvage-inflected nose combines ultra-fresh and cool aromas of plum, violet, dark currant and plenty of earth. There is similar size, weight and muscle to the equally stony middle weight flavors that possess a chiseled, youthfully austere and beautifully persistent finish. This is even firmer though the supporting tannins are clearly ripe. Patience advised.
