Very deep, dark red-purple colour; coconut and vanilla on the nose point towards enthusiastic use of American oak, the palate rich and concentrated with depth and attack, if not subtlety. Chocolate coated plums on palate. The tannins are ample and supple. A full-bodied and full-blooded red that needs time and promises to reward cellaring.

There's no shortage of oak here. It is integrated into the full-bodied wine but a firm fixture with its vanillan bourbon flavour and woodsy spices. The palate is remarkably smooth and glossy with juicy ripe fruit, licorice and dark choc mints.
