Simple, basic, clean and pleasant aroma, a young wine, no complexity. There's a suggestion of liqueur in the centre before a clean, tannin dried finish. Slightly teeth jarring acidity on first sip. The palate is just a little coarse.

55, 35, 10 chardonnay, pinot noir, meunier. 5 percent matured in older oak barrels, aged 9 months on lees, 10.5gL dosage. There's a load of expertise wrapped up in this teeny price. Chardonnay takes the lead in a crunchy and vibrant style of apple and nashi pear, with subtle strawberry hull support from pinot noir. A short spell on lees delivers an attractive backdrop of brioche and spice. There's more dosage here than needed, but at this price it's likely to be over chilled, toning its sweetness nicely.
