Vintage 2016
95 points Halliday Wine Companion
From 35-120yo vines, open-fermented, post-ferment maceration, matured for 15 months in 40% new hogsheads, 90% French, 10% American. Deep crimson-purple; a complex wine, both in terms of its savoury flavours and its texture. Black fruits provide the core of the palate, with graphite, earth and tannins all on parade. It has absorbed and totally integrated the oak, which suits the wine to a T.

Vintage 2019
91 points The Real Review
Deep red purple colour, with a rich smoky, char-oak and dark chocolate aroma. The wine is full-bodied and rich in the mouth, with lots of smoky char oak again but also rich, ripe fruit. Long carry: the tannins are well judged and provide serious structure. A lot of wine for the money.
